The Undecipherable Comic “Scripts” of Gustav Carlson
I am extraordinarily unsuited for scripting comics I draw myself. Not that I have any discomfort with writing prose or even other kinds of scripts. But specifically for myself. See I like the conversation format of comic scripting. Where if there is a separate writer that they are talking directly to their artist. But when I started writing to myself it always felt a little too much like talking to myself. Just a little bit too loudly.
So I stopped scripting and just scribble out crazed layouts and notes on legal pads. Perhaps not coincidentally this is when I started getting a little more wild on layouts.
